Question:

I can't make the teeth whitening pen work - twisted for seconds while watching carefully. Is there a cover to be peeled off first that I haven't found

Answer:

No cover, just twist clockwise.
When the teeth whitening pen is new ... turn until you’ve ‘primed’ the pen. In other words, keep turning until the whitening gel comes out. There’s a ton of whitening in each pen. So don’t worry. Remember, use this whitening pen morning and night for the first week. It really works!

Do you have to continue using this teeth whitening pen after achieving results you're looking for in order to maintain them?

Answer:

I don't use whitening pen daily, so I really don't know....and I do smoke and drink coffee regularly so I do need to use it regularly, too. It depends on what you do. Do you drink coffee, red wine, coca-cola, or smoke?Do you regularly do things that discolor your teeth? If you do, then you will need to counteract those things.

Question:

Does it taste bad?

Answer:

Not at all. Its just like brushing your teeth

Question:

Is this bad for your teeth in any way? Like does it damage the enamel or anything? Also how long does the whiteness last?

Answer:

I am a retired dentist. I no longer "bleach" teeth, so this answer is not based on potential effects on my income.
The ingredients used are used in dentistry and will brighten your teeth.
35% carbamide peroxide can also burn soft tissues (gums, lips, cheeks tongue) and can even burn a hole through clothing. If overIf overused, it will damage the enamel of your teeth irreparably.
I wouldn't feel comfortable turning just anyone loose to use this product in an unsupervised manner. Certainly some individuals will use it safely and effectively, but too many will be tempted to overuse. Your enamel will initially lighten because, like everything else, if you look at the tooth surface under an electron microscope, it is porous. The stains are trapped there. The bleach lightens and even removes that staining material. It opens up the pores and if you were to eat or drink too soon, those pores would just suck up stain like a sponge.
Remember: There is only so much of an effect that's even possible. You can't keep chasing a shade you will NEVER reach. The damage to the enamel actually turns the enamel clear and the darker dentin under the enamel shines through...you start going the wrong way.
Use only intermittently after an initial daily period which will yield the greatest and fastest result. Anyone who applies this stuff to their teeth twice daily for extended periods of time is asking for trouble to put it mildly.
Consult your dentist for advice before proceeding.

Question:

Is this whitening pen with any bleach?

Answer:

I mean yes technically. Bleach refers to any chemical that lightens color or removes stain. If you are asking if this is industrial hypochlorite (Chlorox) than no. This uses an organic peroxide, a natural bleaching agent (don't get on clothes!)

Made in China.

Question:

can you use this on crowns?

no, crowns are permanent to match your teeth color at the time of placement. they will not change color.

Question:

May you rinse your mouth after the thirty seconds?

Answer:

If I remember right you are able to but you really don’t need to. It doesn’t leave a gross feeling or taste in your mouth.

Question:

How long do I leave on my teeth before I should rince it off?

Answer:

The way I read the directions, you put a very thin film of the gel on the clean, flossed and dried teeth (drying your teeth is not easy, but try) and keep that lips-pulled-back pose for 30 seconds, and then you can relax your lips and go about your business WITHOUT rinsing, but don't eat or drink anything for 30 minutes after you apply the gel.

Question:

How long the whitening lasts?

Answer:

It depends, if you drink coffee, tea, wine, or if you are a smoker, you will have to whiten more often. I am a smoker, and although I noticed within a couple of days how much whiter my teeth looked. I will have to whiten again in a couple of weeks. I think I will go back to the whitening strips which seemed to last longer.
